Whispers of the Wilderness: Step Into the Story of Tanzania

There are safaris—and then there are walking safaris. This isn’t about watching from behind a window. This is about becoming part of the wild. At Orok Travel, we invite you to trade tires for footprints, to rediscover the ancient rhythm of the bush—pole pole, step by step.

about

Where Adventure Breathes

Here, in the golden silence of Tanzania’s wilderness, you don’t merely observe—you feel. The distant roar of a lion at dawn. The earthy scent of crushed acacia underfoot. The crisp morning air as elephant tracks crisscross the trail. This is not a safari. This is a story—and you are in it.

Up Close with the Unseen

On foot, the world reveals its secrets. The shimmer of a dung beetle rolling its treasure. The precision of a weaverbird’s nest. The faint trail of an aardvark’s midnight wanderings. You’ll track wildlife the old way—by instinct and patience—guided by seasoned Walking Guides and National Park Rangers who know these lands like family

Trekking Into Timelessness

Our multi-day walking safaris in the Serengeti blend quiet wonder with thrilling discovery. With no engine to disrupt the hush, you'll follow ancient game paths across vast plains—miles from roads, fences, or crowds. Expect 12–15 kilometers of walking each day on gentle terrain, with plenty of breaks for nourishing snacks, stories, and soul-stirring vistas.
We rise with the sun, move with its light, rest in its shade, and gather by firelight. Stars above, earth below—freedom all around.

Fly Camps: Home Where the Wild Is

At the heart of this journey is our fly camping experience: simple, elegant, and deeply connected to nature. Think gauze-covered tents with starry ceilings, soft mattresses, and the sounds of the bush as your lullaby.
Each camp is supporte by a dedicated crew—including chef and waitstaff—with fresh supplies delivered every few days. You’ll enjoy freshly prepared meals, cold drinks, and the warm glow of a crackling fire each night.
But the real magic lies in how lightly we tread.

Light on the Land, Rich in Experience

At Orok Travels, our camps are nomadic by design—mirroring the movements of wildlife and allowing nature to reclaim each site shortly after we leave. We never overstay, and we leave no trace behind. Aside from biodegradable materials, we pack out everything we bring in.
Our minimalist camps mean minimal water use. There are no flush toilets or sprawling septic systems—just essential comforts designed for sustainability. It's simplicity with soul.
Since our first trek, we’ve made it our mission to minimize plastic. We provide safe, refillable drinking water—no single-use bottles. Even your sundowner beer or soda comes in a returnable glass bottle. Every detail is chosen with care—for the land, for the people, and for the future.
Our meals are crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients—many of the vegetables come from a women-run organic farm in our village. In every bite, there’s a story of community, sustainability, and connection to the land.

Safe, Skilled, Soulful

Your journey is guided by Tanzania’s most experienced walking safari pioneers, including our partners at Wayo Africa. Every step is accompanied by a trained, armed Walking Guide and a National Park Ranger, ensuring your safety while giving you the freedom to immerse fully in the untamed wild

For the Bold and the Dreamers

This experience is for the curious, the courageous, and the quietly wild. Whether as a soul-stirring prelude to a classic game drive safari, or a standalone journey into the heart of Tanzania, our walking safaris offer a connection that vehicles simply cannot.
Walk where few have walked. Feel the land through your soles—and into your soul. Let the rhythm of Tanzania carry you.
Orok Travel invites you to step into the wilderness. One footfall at a time.
